RM7.2 million grant aims to help at-risk youth build better futures

A RM7.2 million contribution to MySkills Foundation has been announced with the goal of expanding skills training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth. The initiative is designed to give at-risk young people the tools and training necessary to build stable careers and improve their economic prospects.

Managing Director of Amalan Setar R Rajendran expressed optimism that the donation would create meaningful change for vulnerable youth in the community. According to Rajendran, the foundation's programmes focus on providing practical skills training in high-demand sectors, equipping participants with credentials that improve employability.

MySkills Foundation operates training centres across the region, offering courses in trades, digital skills, and service industries. The foundation targets young people who have faced barriers to traditional education or employment, providing them with subsidized or free training programmes.

The funding announcement comes as Malaysia continues to address youth unemployment and skills gaps in the labour market. Officials have emphasized that investing in at-risk youth through vocational training and mentorship programmes can help reduce social challenges while addressing industry talent shortages.

MySkills Foundation said the new funding would allow it to expand its reach and serve more participants, particularly in underserved communities across the country.
