The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has reassured the public in Kota Belud, Sabah, and the Federal Territory of Labuan that increased aerial activity in the region is part of a planned operational exercise. The low-flying aircraft sightings, which may have caused concern among residents, are attributed to routine military training operations.

Authorities urged members of the public not to panic as the RMAF conducts regular training exercises to maintain operational readiness and pilot proficiency. Such exercises are a standard component of the air force's training programme and typically involve multiple aircraft operating in designated airspace.

Residents were advised to remain calm and avoid attempting to photograph or interfere with military operations. The RMAF said it coordinates such activities with relevant local and federal authorities to ensure public safety and minimise disruption to communities in affected areas.

The exercise is expected to continue for a limited period, after which normal air traffic patterns should resume in the region. Authorities appealed to the public to report any concerns through official channels rather than spreading unverified information through social media.
