Road Transport Department to Expand Crackdown on Extreme Vehicle Modifications

The Road Transport Department will broaden its enforcement drive against extreme vehicle modifications across the country, according to department chief Aedy Fadly Ramli. The expanded operations seek to target a growing number of vehicle owners who illegally customize their cars with modifications valued at up to RM150,000. The JPJ's intensified crackdown, known as Ops Ekstrem, represents an escalation of the department's existing enforcement efforts against illegal vehicle alterations. Aedy Fadly indicated that the nationwide rollout of the operation would enable the department to reach more areas and identify additional violators engaged in unauthorized vehicle customization. The move reflects growing concerns over illegally modified vehicles on Malaysian roads, with the department committed to bringing more offenders to account through the expanded operation.
