Roma leapfrogs to second with commanding 3-0 victory over Sassuolo
AS Roma consolidated their Serie A title ambitions by moving to second place with a comfortable 3-0 triumph over basement-dwellers Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico. The Italian capital club's attacking prowess proved too much for a Sassuolo side struggling defensively this season.

Roma's clinical performance on Saturday underscored why they rank among Serie A's most potent attacking forces, as they dismantled their hapless visitors without breaking a sweat at the Olympic Stadium. The Giallorossi's move into the runner-up position reflects their resurgence as genuine contenders for the league title this campaign.
The gulf in quality between the two sides was evident throughout the encounter, with Roma's superior firepower exposed Sassuolo's vulnerable defence repeatedly. The visitors, languishing at the foot of the standings with the division's worst defensive record, offered little resistance to Roma's organised and purposeful approach.
Roma's emphatic victory marks a significant statement of intent as the season approaches its midpoint, with the club demonstrating the attacking consistency and defensive solidity required to sustain a title challenge. For Sassuolo, the heavy defeat compounds mounting concerns about their ability to avoid relegation from Italy's top division.
