Romblon municipality suspends classes to mark Teachers' Day

The local government of Cajidiocan in Romblon has declared October 5 a non-working holiday for all public schools to commemorate National Teachers' Day and World Teachers' Day.

CALAPAN CITY — Classes have been suspended across all public elementary and secondary schools in Cajidiocan, Romblon on October 5, the municipality announced, as the town joins the nation in celebrating National Teachers' Day and World Teachers' Day.

The suspension order covers both teaching and non-teaching personnel employed in public schools throughout the municipality, according to Executive Order No. 073, series of 2026 issued by the local government unit.

The observance recognizes the contributions of educators to the country's development and education system. World Teachers' Day, established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is marked annually on October 5.

The holiday declaration ensures that teachers and school staff can participate in commemoration activities and recognize the vital role of educators in shaping the nation's youth and future workforce.
