MANILA — Michael "Mikee" Romero announced Wednesday his transition from active duty in the AFP Reserve, marking the end of his tenure as wing commander of the Tactical Operations Wing Reserve Northern Luzon.
Despite stepping down from his military position, Romero reaffirmed his dedication to serving the public through other channels. The former House Deputy Speaker submitted his letter of relinquishment to formally conclude his service with the reserve force.
Romero's departure from the AFP Reserve comes as he continues to explore avenues for contributing to national development outside the military framework. The politician emphasized that his retirement would not diminish his commitment to public welfare.
The move reflects a shift in focus for Romero, who has balanced legislative and military responsibilities throughout his career. His pledge to maintain public service involvement signals his continued engagement in governance and community development initiatives beyond his uniform.
