MANILA — The anti-graft court issued a commitment order Thursday placing former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, directing his transfer from his current private medical facility to a Quezon City detention center.
The transfer directive was not immediately executed, however, as Romualdez has filed a pending motion for hospital arrest that may affect his custody status. The motion remains under court consideration, effectively pausing the implementation of the Sandiganbayan's order.
