RoS suspends Perikatan Nasional activities pending compliance review

KUALA LUMPUR — The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has taken action against the opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional, suspending its activities effective immediately and demanding a written explanation within 14 days.
The regulatory body issued the show-cause notice following a formal complaint lodged by Bersatu, one of the coalition's member parties. The suspension affects Perikatan's operational activities pending the outcome of the compliance review.
The move marks an escalation in tensions within the opposition coalition structure. Perikatan Nasional, which comprises multiple parties including Bersatu, PAS, and others, now faces scrutiny over its organizational compliance with the Societies Act.
