Rosmah pledges to challenge RM67.5m jewellery firm judgment

KUALA LUMPUR — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has signaled her intention to contest enforcement proceedings related to a RM67.5 million judgment handed down by the High Court in favor of Global Royalty Trading, a Lebanese jewellery firm.

The wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak stated that she would mount resistance to any enforcement action while preparing grounds for an appeal against the judgment. The court order, which was delivered earlier this year, relates to an outstanding dispute between Rosmah and the jewellery firm.

Rosmah's legal team is expected to file the appeal within the prescribed timeframe, seeking to overturn the judgment on grounds that are yet to be publicly detailed. The case has drawn public attention given Rosmah's high profile and ongoing legal matters related to allegations of corruption and misuse of power.

The enforcement of the judgment would require Rosmah to settle the substantial monetary claim. However, with an appeal pending, the execution of the judgment may be subject to stays or delays depending on the court's discretion and the merits presented by her legal representatives.
