RSAF accelerates mission planning with new tools at Exercise Wallaby
The Republic of Singapore Air Force has trialled advanced planning systems designed to reduce preparation timelines and capitalise on fleeting operational windows. The new tools were tested during the multinational Exercise Wallaby.

The RSAF's adoption of streamlined mission planning technology addresses a longstanding operational challenge where extended preparation periods previously prevented pilots from executing time-sensitive missions. During Exercise Wallaby, the air force evaluated systems capable of compressing planning cycles, enabling rapid response to emerging opportunities in the operational environment.
Extended planning timelines have historically constrained tactical flexibility, with pilots occasionally unable to launch sorties due to the narrow windows available for mission execution. The trialled tools are designed to collapse these preparation phases, allowing operational commanders to make faster decisions and deploy aircraft with minimal delay.
Exercise Wallaby, which brings together air forces from multiple nations in the region, provided an ideal testing ground for evaluating the new planning systems under realistic operational conditions. The trials form part of broader efforts by the RSAF to enhance operational agility and maintain interoperability with regional and international partners.
The results of the Exercise Wallaby trials are expected to inform procurement and integration decisions as the air force seeks to modernise its command and control infrastructure. Faster mission planning cycles would represent a significant operational advantage, particularly in scenarios requiring rapid force deployment and time-critical targeting.
