RSS Chief Cautions Against External Powers Exploiting Civil Unrest
Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has warned against foreign interference in domestic movements, citing recent events in France and Albania as cautionary examples. He called for societal dialogue and cautioned that protests should not be driven solely by electoral considerations.

The RSS chief raised concerns about external actors potentially leveraging civil discontent to engineer political transitions, drawing parallels with recent geopolitical developments in Europe and the Balkans. Bhagwat emphasized the need for vigilance against what he characterized as "regime change" attempts orchestrated from outside India's borders.
Addressing the nature of contemporary protests and social movements, Bhagwat stressed that genuine democratic participation should transcend narrow political calculations. He argued that movements motivated primarily by vote-seeking or popularity metrics risk being manipulated for external agendas, thereby compromising their authenticity and legitimacy.
The RSS leader advocated for substantive dialogue across Indian society as a counterweight to potential foreign interference. Such engagement, he suggested, would strengthen the nation's democratic institutions and ensure that domestic movements remain rooted in indigenous concerns rather than external manipulation.
Bhagwat's remarks reflect broader concerns within nationalist circles about the intersection of foreign policy interests and internal political movements. His intervention underscores ongoing debates within India's political spectrum regarding sovereignty, civil society activism, and the conditions under which external powers might seek to influence domestic affairs.
