The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked its centenary year on Vijayadashami with ceremonial observances in its headquarters city of Nagpur. Senior functionary Mohan Bhagwat presided over the weapon consecration ritual, a traditional practice observed during the Hindu festival commemorating the victory of good over evil.
Bhagwat also paid floral tributes at the memory temple dedicated to Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the organization's founder, as part of the commemorative festivities. The event underscored the RSS's emphasis on cultural and nationalist symbols during the significant milestone in its organizational history.
The Vijayadashami ceremony held particular significance this year as the RSS continues to mark its hundredth anniversary since its establishment. The organization, which maintains a substantial presence across India through its network of volunteers and affiliated bodies, used the occasion to reflect on its foundational principles and historical journey.
