RSS veteran M.A. Krishnan dies at 97 in Kochi

Krishnan, who had been associated with the RSS for several decades, died in Kochi after a prolonged illness. He was known for his contributions to Hindu cultural and educational initiatives in South India.

Among his significant contributions was the founding of Tapasya Kalasahitya Vedi, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting classical Indian arts and literature. He was also instrumental in establishing Balagokulam, a youth-oriented program that has since expanded across multiple states.

During his career in ideological work, Krishnan served as editor of Kesari, a publication with historical significance in Hindu nationalist circles. His long association with the RSS saw him contribute to the organization's activities across Kerala and other southern states.

Krishnan's death marks the passing of an elder figure in RSS ranks who had witnessed and participated in several phases of the organization's evolution since the mid-20th century. He is survived by his family.
