Moscow said it submitted an official protest to the Japanese government regarding the deployment of US Typhon missile launchers for the drills, characterising the move as a threat to Russian national security. The exercises underscore deepening defence cooperation among the three Indo-Pacific allies as regional security dynamics shift. Russia's formal complaint reflects Moscow's growing concerns about US military posture in Asia and the expansion of security arrangements among countries it views as part of a Western-led containment strategy.
