Russian drone strike kills five near Ukraine front line

Nikopol, located on the western bank of the Dnipro River across from Russian-controlled territory, has faced repeated bombardment since the full-scale Russian invasion began in February 2022. The city has become a focal point for cross-river exchanges of fire and drone strikes.

Ukrainian officials have repeatedly called for Western air defense systems to counter the persistent threat of Russian aerial attacks, warning that civilian infrastructure and populated areas remain vulnerable to unmanned strikes.
