Elena Rybakina has signalled her intent to line up at the US Open despite suffering a leg injury at the Cincinnati Open in mid-August. The world number two told reporters on Thursday that her rehabilitation is tracking well and she expects to be ready for the year's final Grand Slam tournament.
Rybakina's injury came during her participation at Cincinnati, one of the year's most prestigious warm-up events ahead of the US Open. The setback raised questions about her availability for Flushing Meadows, where she would be among the tournament favourites given her current ranking.
