Kota Kinabalu — The Sabah Police Department announced the successful operation against an armed robbery gang that has terrorised affluent residential areas throughout the state. The syndicate members are suspected of orchestrating at least 17 separate burglaries targeting luxury homes, police said on Wednesday.
Investigations revealed the gang employed coordinated tactics to target high-value residences, systematically stealing jewellery, electronics, and cash from homeowners. The cumulative value of stolen goods recovered and losses documented reached RM304,500, according to police records.
The operation culminated in the arrest of multiple gang members, with officers seizing weapons and stolen property during raids on suspected hideouts. Police said the dismantling of the syndicate would significantly reduce armed robbery incidents in residential areas across Sabah.
The state police force has urged residents of upscale neighbourhoods to enhance home security measures, including installation of alarm systems and reinforced door locks. Authorities also appealed to the public to report suspicious activities to local police stations.
