Sabah power supply reliability improves dramatically, Chief Minister says

Sabah's power supply infrastructure has marked a significant turnaround in reliability metrics, with the state's chief administrator attributing the progress to enhanced operational efforts. Chief Minister Hajiji Noor highlighted that the Average System Interruption Duration Index—a key measure of electricity supply stability—has improved considerably over the past 18 months. The metric fell to 226 minutes as of July 2024, down from 598 minutes recorded throughout 2023, representing a 62 per cent reduction in outage duration. This improvement underscores efforts by the state's power utility to strengthen grid management and reduce service disruptions. The advancement in Sabah's electricity reliability comes at a time when the state is pushing to enhance its infrastructure and support economic development.
