Sabah vehicle owners urged to use additional BUDI Diesel quota

Vehicle owners in Sabah have been encouraged to make full use of a supplementary 100-litre allocation of BUDI diesel, according to Mustapha Sakmud, the minister in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for Sabah and Sarawak.
The additional quota represents an opportunity for the government to gather data on actual fuel consumption patterns and genuine demand across the state, Sakmud indicated. By monitoring how the enhanced allocation is utilized, authorities aim to obtain a clearer picture of Sabah's true diesel requirements.
The initiative comes as part of efforts to better manage fuel distribution in the East Malaysian state. Officials will use the uptake of the additional 100-litre quota to inform future policy decisions regarding any potential expansion of BUDI diesel allocations.
The BUDI diesel scheme, which provides subsidized fuel to eligible vehicle owners, has been a key component of the government's cost-of-living assistance programme in Sabah and Sarawak. The current additional allocation represents a temporary measure designed to collect operational data before permanent adjustments to quota levels are considered.
