Samajwadi Party fields two candidates for Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh

The Samajwadi Party has declared Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav and businessman Dhanaraj Parimal Nathwani as official candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Both candidates are set to file their nomination papers on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m., according to party officials. The announcement marks the party's strategy to strengthen its representation in the upper house of Parliament.

Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav, a senior party figure, has long been associated with the Samajwadi Party's political operations. Nathwani's candidacy represents the party's broader attempt to diversify its Rajya Sabha representation.

The move comes as various political parties in Uttar Pradesh prepare their candidates for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections.
