The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conferred the honor on San Juan City during the 2026 NCR Subaybayani Awards, a recognition program highlighting exemplary local governance in Metro Manila.
The city's selection in the Top Performing City category reflects its achievements in executing infrastructure development projects using local funds, as well as establishing and maintaining effective mechanisms to oversee project implementation. The award underscores San Juan City's commitment to delivering public works that benefit its constituents while maintaining transparency and accountability in their execution.
Mayor Francis Zamora received the recognition on behalf of the local government unit.
