San Simon residents bear brunt of NLEx flooding crisis in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERDINAND, PAMPANGA — Residents of Barangay Santa Monica in San Simon, Pampanga are grappling with the aftermath of recent flooding that submerged their community under 0.60 meters of water. Bella Parungao, 40, a resident of the barangay, described the ordeal facing her community as devastating. "We received all the miseries," she said, as she searched for alternative housing arrangements while her neighbors lined up for emergency food assistance. The flooding has displaced numerous families and raised serious concerns about the town's vulnerability to water-related disasters.
