Sandiganbayan suspends party-list representative facing graft charges

MANILA — The Sandiganbayan Sixth Division has issued a suspension order against party-list Representative James Ang Dit Ang Jr., known as Jojo Ang, pending the outcome of his graft trial. The order effectively removes him from his position in the House of Representatives and disqualifies him from holding any other public office during the proceedings.

Ang faces 14 counts of graft charges before the anti-graft court. The suspension, which operates "pendente lite" or pending the litigation, is a standard procedural measure taken against public officials accused of serious crimes.
