Sanskrit University Reverses Exam Register Decision, Launches Probe

The Syndicate of a Sanskrit university has revoked its previous decision regarding unsigned examination tabulation registers, ordering a formal inquiry into the procedural failures that allowed the oversight to persist for several years. A preliminary assessment revealed that responsible officials had not recorded their signatures on tabulation registers for exams held since 2018, a significant administrative lapse in institutional record-keeping. On July 17, the Syndicate had passed a resolution allowing officials to retroactively sign the registers. However, this decision has now been reversed following discovery of the extent of the irregularity. Among those who had complied with the July 17 directive by signing the documents were officials who had already retired from service, complicating efforts to establish accountability and verify the authenticity of examination records. The university has initiated a comprehensive probe to identify the root causes of the lapses and determine responsibility for the failure to maintain proper documentation standards over the five-year period.
