Sanskrit University Syndicate Overturns Exam Register Decision, Launches Investigation
A Sanskrit university's governing body has reversed its earlier decision on unsigned examination tabulation registers and ordered a formal probe into administrative lapses. The move comes after officials failed to sign examination documents over a five-year period.

The Syndicate of a Sanskrit varsity has revoked its previous decision regarding unsigned examination tabulation registers and initiated an inquiry into procedural violations that span several years. A preliminary assessment revealed that university officials neglected to record their signatures on examination tabulation registers for examinations conducted since 2018, constituting a significant administrative irregularity.
The governing body had issued a directive on July 17 allowing officials to belatedly append their signatures to the tabulation registers. However, this retroactive measure has now been withdrawn following concerns about the scope and duration of the oversight.
The probe will examine why officials failed to follow prescribed protocols for signing examination documentation over the extended period. The investigation will also assess the validity of examination processes during which mandatory signatures were absent from official records.
Among those who had already affixed their signatures to the registers following the July 17 Syndicate decision were several individuals who have since retired from university service. The reversal of the earlier decision raises questions about the status of these retrospectively signed documents and the proper maintenance of examination records.
