As of 8am, three additional areas in Sarawak joined Serian in registering 'very unhealthy' Air Pollutant Index (API) readings. The worsening conditions prompted environmental authorities to monitor the situation closely as the haze episode progresses.
Nationally, the air quality crisis has expanded beyond Sarawak, with 16 locations across the country now reporting 'unhealthy' API levels. The widespread nature of the pollution episode underscores the scale of the current atmospheric conditions affecting the region.
