Police in Sarawak have dismantled a significant drug trafficking operation following coordinated raids that netted 191 kilograms of narcotics worth RM17.2 million, according to state police chief Zainal Abdullah.
The scale of the seizure underscores the ongoing drug trafficking threat facing the eastern Malaysian state. Based on typical consumption patterns, the confiscated drugs had the potential to reach approximately 484,850 individuals, the police chief noted.
The operation marks a notable success in Sarawak's ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime. The raids were conducted as part of intensified enforcement activities targeting major suppliers and distribution networks operating in the region.
