Sarawak schools resume classes as air quality improves across state
Ten district education offices in Sarawak have lifted class suspensions following an improvement in air pollution index readings. Schools are expected to reopen across the affected regions.

Classes will resume across 10 districts in Sarawak following a marked improvement in air quality levels, according to the state's education authorities. The District Education Offices (PPDs) managing the affected areas have given the green light for both primary and secondary schools to return to normal operations.
The decision comes after the Air Pollution Index (API) readings fell to safer levels, promitting officials to lift the temporary closure orders that had been in place. The closures were implemented as a precautionary measure to protect student and staff health from hazardous air conditions.
The resumption of classes represents a return to normalcy for thousands of students across the state. School administrators have been advised to monitor air quality conditions and ensure adequate ventilation in school facilities.
Parents and guardians are advised to check with their respective schools for any additional guidelines regarding the reopening. Education officials have indicated they will continue monitoring atmospheric conditions and are prepared to take further action should air quality deteriorate again.
