Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd announced planned repair works on a 1,100mm-diameter pipeline along Jalan Matang in Kuching, with water supply interruptions expected during the two-day maintenance window on September 4 and 5. The utility company has advised affected customers to prepare adequate water supplies in advance of the shutdown period.
The repair works form part of the company's ongoing infrastructure maintenance programme. Residents and businesses in the vicinity of Jalan Matang should store sufficient water for their needs during the scheduled disruption, according to Sarawak Water's advisory.
Traffic management measures will be implemented in the area to facilitate the repair operations. Road diversions will be in effect from September 3 through September 12, requiring motorists to use alternative routes during this period. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and follow signage directing traffic around the work zone.
Sarawak Water has encouraged affected customers to contact the utility for further information regarding the maintenance schedule or to report any concerns related to the water supply interruption.
