Sarda Energy & Minerals Limited's consolidated net profit fell 2.2 per cent to ₹320 crore in the quarter ended September 30, dragged down by lower revenue realisation across its operations. The integrated energy and minerals firm posted profit after tax of ₹328 crore in Q2 FY2025-26, compared with ₹328 crore recorded in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Total income for the quarter declined 5.7 per cent year-on-year to ₹1,505 crore from ₹1,596 crore, reflecting softer demand conditions across the company's portfolio. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) also contracted 2.7 per cent to ₹564 crore in the July-September period, down from ₹580 crore a year earlier.
However, the company's first-half performance presented a more upbeat picture. For the April-September period, net profit grew 4.5 per cent to ₹799 crore compared with ₹764 crore in the corresponding six-month period last year, suggesting some stabilisation in underlying business conditions.
Sarda Energy & Minerals operates an integrated business spanning power generation, mining, steel and ferro alloys production. The company's Q2 results underscore the challenging operating environment faced by Indian energy and commodities companies amid volatile global markets and domestic demand pressures.
