Saudi airstrikes kill 11 in Yemen's Sanaa province, Houthis say

The Houthi movement reported that Saudi-led coalition airstrikes on Yemen's Sanaa province resulted in at least eleven deaths on Tuesday. The group said rescue operations were ongoing as teams worked to recover additional victims from the debris of targeted sites.

Sanaa, the provincial capital and a Houthi stronghold, has faced repeated aerial bombardment throughout Yemen's protracted conflict. The latest strikes added to the mounting civilian toll from years of military operations in the war-torn nation.

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen including the capital, have faced sustained pressure from the Saudi-led military coalition since 2015. The group has been designated as a terrorist organisation by several countries, though it maintains significant territorial control and political influence in Yemen.

Yemen's humanitarian situation remains dire, with millions of civilians facing food insecurity and limited access to medical services. International organisations have repeatedly called for ceasefire agreements to halt the violence and allow delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the country.

The Saudi-led coalition has not immediately issued a statement regarding the reported strikes or casualty figures.
