State Bank of India (California), a wholly-owned subsidiary of India's largest bank, has established its inaugural branch in Frisco, Texas, signalling the lender's strategic push into new US markets. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by SBI Group Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, alongside Consul General of India in Houston DC Manjunath and Frisco Mayor Mark Hill.
Located in the rapidly expanding North Dallas region, the Frisco branch represents the subsidiary's first physical presence beyond California following its earlier expansion within the state. The new facility brings SBI's total US branch network to eight locations.
The branch will offer comprehensive retail and commercial banking services, including personal and business deposit products, commercial lending facilities, and international remittance options. These services are specifically designed to serve individuals, professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate clients across the North Texas region.
Consul General Manjunath noted that the branch opening strengthens economic and commercial linkages between India and the United States. The expansion reflects SBI's commitment to serving the growing Indian-American community and facilitating bilateral trade and investment flows between the two nations.
