State Bank of India (SBI) will remain closed for five consecutive days in the coming week, the country's largest public sector bank said in an advisory to its customer base.
The extended closure has prompted SBI to issue a notice urging account holders to settle any urgent financial matters before the shutdown period begins. Banking services, including online transactions and customer support, may be affected during this period.
While SBI did not provide specific reasons for the extended closure in its initial statement, such shutdowns are typically scheduled for system maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, or to observe national holidays. The bank advised customers to plan their banking needs accordingly.
SBI recommended that customers complete withdrawal of cash, bill payments, fund transfers, and other time-sensitive transactions at the earliest to avoid inconvenience. The bank assured customers that normal operations would resume after the closure period ends.
Customers have been directed to visit their nearest SBI branch or check the bank's official website and mobile app for more details regarding the exact closure dates and any additional advisory information.
