State Bank of India has cautioned its customers to undertake essential banking operations before September 11, when a nationwide strike is set to impact banking services across the country. The advisory comes as various banking unions prepare for industrial action, which is expected to disrupt branch operations on the scheduled date.
The country's largest lender has recommended that customers prioritize completing important transactions such as fund transfers, bill payments, and loan applications before the strike commences. SBI has emphasized the need for advance planning to avoid inconvenience during the period when physical branch services may be limited or unavailable.
To minimize disruptions, SBI has urged customers to leverage alternative banking channels that are expected to remain operational during the strike. These include 24/7 automated teller machines, customer service points, and digital banking platforms such as net banking and mobile applications, which provide round-the-clock access to essential services.
The bank has advised customers to plan their financial requirements in advance and make use of digital channels for non-critical transactions. Such advisories are routine whenever industrial action in the banking sector is announced, allowing institutions to prepare customers for temporary service disruptions.
