SBI Waives ATM Charges for Three Days Amid Bank Strike

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a three-day waiver on all ATM transaction charges to support customers during an anticipated bank strike. The fee waiver will remain in effect from September 28 to 30, 2026, the bank said in a statement. Under normal circumstances, SBI account holders are entitled to a limited number of free ATM withdrawals per month. Once this quota is exhausted, customers typically incur charges for additional transactions. However, throughout the three-day period, no charges will apply regardless of how many withdrawals customers make. The measure is part of SBI's contingency planning to maintain service continuity during labor disruptions. While branch operations may be affected by the strike, customers will retain full access to ATM networks and digital banking services throughout the period. The bank has encouraged customers to utilize these alternative channels to manage their banking requirements without disruption.
