Scattered showers forecast across western and central Sri Lanka

Scattered showers are expected to affect the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts throughout Wednesday, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are forecast to develop in the Uva province and the Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 p.m., the weather office indicated.

The public is advised to take precautions against potential rainfall in the affected areas. Residents in flood-prone locations should remain alert, particularly in afternoon hours when thundershower activity is anticipated in the eastern districts.

The forecast reflects typical mid-year weather patterns affecting the island. Authorities recommend that travelers plan accordingly and monitor further weather updates from the meteorological department.
