A Singapore Civil Defence Force fire engine became temporarily immobilised after sinking into soft ground at a residential area in Sengkang on Tuesday. The incident occurred near an HDB block when the vehicle ventured onto a grass patch that proved unable to support its weight.
SCDF officers assessed the situation and determined that specialist equipment would be required to extract the fire engine from the soggy terrain. The force promptly engaged a vehicle contractor to assist with the recovery operation.
Working in coordination, the SCDF team and contractor personnel deployed recovery equipment to gradually shift the fire engine back onto firmer ground. The operation was completed without reported damage to the vehicle or surrounding infrastructure.
