PUTRAJAYA — Authorities have called on all school bus owners and operators nationwide to complete updates to their drivers' records before the October 30 deadline to secure financial assistance timed for the Deepavali festival.

The move aims to ensure that eligible drivers receive the RM1,000 aid allocation, which is intended to provide relief during the festive season. Officials emphasised the importance of timely compliance with the registration requirements to avoid missing out on the assistance scheme.

School bus operators are required to submit accurate and current information about their drivers through the designated channels to facilitate the processing and distribution of funds. The authorities have stressed that incomplete or outdated records may result in drivers being excluded from the assistance programme.

Deepavali, celebrated by the Indian community and others across Malaysia, falls in November this year. The financial assistance is part of broader efforts to support those in the transportation sector during the festive period.

Operators seeking further clarification on the registration process and eligibility criteria are advised to contact the relevant government agencies for guidance.
