Schools in Johor and four Selangor districts close due to haze
Educational institutions across Johor and four districts in Selangor will remain shuttered tomorrow as haze conditions persist in the region. Schools in most other Malaysian states are expected to operate normally.

Schools in Johor state and four education districts in Selangor have announced temporary closures tomorrow in response to deteriorating air quality caused by haze. The decision affects students and staff across multiple institutions as air pollution levels rise in these areas.
The closures are limited to the two states, with educational facilities in Melaka, Penang, Putrajaya, Labuan, Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Perlis, Sabah and Sarawak expected to continue normal operations.
Haze episodes have become increasingly common in the region during certain seasons, prompting authorities to implement precautionary measures to protect public health, particularly among vulnerable populations such as schoolchildren. School closures are among the standard protocols adopted when air quality deteriorates beyond safe levels.
