KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) has launched an anonymous reporting system in schools throughout Soccsksargen to enhance campus security and encourage early detection of potential threats. The 'Speak Up Boxes' initiative provides students, teachers, and school personnel with a confidential channel to report suspicious activities, safety concerns, and other threats without direct confrontation with authorities.
The program addresses a critical gap in school safety protocols by removing barriers that may prevent individuals from coming forward with information. By allowing anonymous submissions, the initiative aims to increase community participation in maintaining secure learning environments while protecting those who report from potential retaliation or social pressure.
Police officials stated that the boxes will be regularly monitored and reports will be prioritized based on severity. The system is designed to complement existing security measures and enable rapid response from law enforcement and school administrators to emerging threats. Educational institutions participating in the program have been provided guidelines on managing submissions and coordinating with police on appropriate follow-up actions.
The rollout in Soccsksargen represents part of broader national efforts to strengthen school safety protocols. Regional authorities plan to expand the initiative to additional educational facilities across Region 12 and encourage other institutions to adopt similar reporting mechanisms.
