Schools in Three States Reopen Despite Haze Restrictions

Schools in Melaka, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan will reopen for regular classes tomorrow after being shuttered due to air quality concerns. The resumption of academic activities comes as state education authorities assess improving atmospheric conditions across the region.

While indoor classroom operations will proceed as scheduled, the respective state education departments have mandated a blanket suspension of all outdoor activities. The restriction encompasses physical education classes held outside, recess activities in open areas, and extracurricular events requiring outdoor participation.

The outdoor activity ban remains in effect until air quality levels improve to safer standards. Schools have been directed to adapt their schedules and conduct alternative indoor programmes where feasible to minimize disruption to the academic calendar.

State education officials continue to monitor haze levels and will provide updated guidance should atmospheric conditions deteriorate further. Parents and school administrators have been advised to remain alert for any additional announcements regarding potential closures or activity modifications.
