Schools across Selangor, Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are set to reopen for classes on Wednesday following a period of closure. Students and staff will return to regular classroom instruction as scheduled.
While indoor academic activities will proceed as normal, authorities have suspended all outdoor activities at educational institutions in the affected areas. The decision reflects ongoing air quality concerns linked to regional haze affecting Malaysia and neighbouring countries.
The temporary halt on outdoor programmes includes sports, physical education classes and extracurricular activities typically held in open areas. School administrators have been advised to ensure students remain indoors during break times and to maintain regular monitoring of air quality indices.
Education authorities will continue to assess haze conditions and may adjust operational guidelines if air quality deteriorates further or improves significantly. Parents and guardians are advised to stay updated with announcements from their respective state education departments.
