Schools reopen in four states despite haze; outdoor activities cancelled
Educational institutions across Melaka, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang will resume classes tomorrow following air quality improvements, though outdoor activities remain suspended due to lingering haze conditions.

All schools in the four states have been cleared to reopen after authorities assessed that air quality levels have sufficiently improved to allow normal classroom operations to resume. However, education authorities have mandated the suspension of all outdoor activities, including sports and recreational programmes, as a precautionary measure while haze remains a concern in the region.
The decision follows consultation between state education departments and environmental agencies, which determined that indoor learning environments met safety standards for students and staff. Parents and school administrators have been advised that while classes will proceed as scheduled, alternative indoor arrangements should be made for physical education and extracurricular activities.
This marks a gradual normalisation following air quality disruptions that had prompted the temporary closure of educational facilities across the region. Students are expected to return to full academic operations, though schools have been instructed to monitor air quality conditions continuously and remain prepared to implement contingency measures if conditions deteriorate further.
