Scientists have developed a starch-based washing solution designed to tackle one of India's persistent food safety concerns: pesticide residues on fresh produce. The innovative treatment removes more than 93 percent of pesticide residues from fruit and vegetable surfaces, addressing growing consumer concerns about chemical contamination in the food supply.

Beyond pesticide removal, the wash also enhances the longevity of perishable produce, maintaining quality during storage for up to 15 days.
