A new wild cat species has been formally identified in the forests of Bolivia, marking a significant addition to the continent's known fauna. The small feline, comparable in size to a domestic house cat, inhabits the dense woodland areas of the South American nation.
The species had gone unrecognized by the scientific community for years, as its spotted and striped coat pattern closely resembled those of several other wild cat species already documented in the region.
