Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City have recovered an additional 148 sets of martyrs' remains following two weeks of intensive search and recovery operations at Le Thi Rieng Park in Hoa Hung ward, the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command reported.

The latest discovery marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to locate and identify fallen soldiers and civilians at the burial site. The second phase of the recovery operation has proceeded methodically, with teams working to carefully excavate and document each set of remains discovered.

Since excavation efforts began at Le Thi Rieng Park four months ago, a cumulative total of nearly 850 sets of martyrs' remains have been recovered, underscoring the historical significance of the location as a burial ground for those who died during the country's conflicts.

The recovery work reflects commitments to honoring the nation's war dead and providing closure to families of the fallen. A national steering committee overseeing the search for martyrs' remains has approved efforts to continue systematic excavation and identification work at the site.

The operations demonstrate the ongoing dedication to accounting for all fallen combatants and civilians, ensuring their contributions to national history are properly recognized and documented.
