Sebi bans Varanium Cloud, promoter from securities market for seven years

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has imposed a comprehensive ban on Varanium Cloud and promoter Harshawardhan Sabale, prohibiting them from accessing the securities market for the next seven years. The action follows a regulatory investigation that uncovered violations of securities laws by the company and its leadership.

As part of the enforcement action, Sabale has been directed to disgorge Rs 128.77 crore, representing unlawful gains accumulated through securities market violations. The regulator has also imposed monetary penalties on both the promoter and the company for their contraventions of applicable securities regulations.

The seven-year market ban represents one of Sebi's stricter enforcement measures and effectively prevents Varanium Cloud from raising capital through the securities market and bars Sabale from holding positions in listed companies during the period. The disgorgement order requires the promoter to return the ill-gotten gains to the market regulator.

Sebi's action underscores the regulator's commitment to maintaining market integrity and protecting investor interests by taking stringent action against entities found to be in violation of securities laws. The enforcement action serves as a warning to other market participants regarding compliance with regulatory requirements.
