The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has issued a circular requiring stock brokers to showcase investor awareness content on their digital platforms under Project Jagrook, the regulator's nationwide investor awareness initiative.
From October 5 to 31, all brokers must display investor awareness messages and risk disclosures provided by Sebi on their websites. Beginning November 1, brokers will be required to feature these specified messages prominently on their website landing pages to ensure maximum visibility to users.
For trading applications, Sebi has adopted a phased approach, permitting brokers to voluntarily display investor awareness messages between October 5 and 31. During this voluntary period, if a broker chooses to display the awareness content on its trading app, the accompanying risk disclosures will be optional.
The initiative forms part of Sebi's preparations for World Investor Week 2026 and reflects the regulator's ongoing commitment to enhancing investor literacy and protection. The mandatory display of awareness messages aims to ensure retail investors have access to critical information about investment risks and investor rights before engaging in market transactions.
