Second EM Services manager charged over $50k corruption allegation

Ng Yin Hong was charged following an investigation into alleged corrupt practices at EM Services. According to the charge, Ng allegedly accepted the $50,000 bribe from a director of a maintenance firm in February 2023.

The allegation centres on Ng's position as a project manager at EM Services, where he would have had responsibility over contracts and vendor relationships. The maintenance firm director is said to have provided the bribe in connection with business dealings with EM Services.

This case represents the second corruption charge involving EM Services management in recent proceedings. The charges underscore ongoing scrutiny of procurement and contract practices within the organisation.

Corruption charges in Singapore carry significant penalties under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with potential sentences of up to five years imprisonment and fines up to S$100,000 for individuals convicted of accepting bribes.
