SHAH ALAM — Selangor's Monthly Public Transport Subsidy programme has been extended to cover KTM Komuter services in addition to its existing coverage, the state government announced on Wednesday. The subsidy, valued at RM30 per month, is now accessible to eligible residents utilising the commuter rail network across the state.

The expansion represents a significant broadening of the subsidy scheme, which previously focused on other modes of public transport. State officials said the measure aims to reduce transportation costs for residents and encourage greater uptake of public transit options in the Klang Valley and surrounding areas.

The extension is effective immediately, allowing commuters to access the additional benefit without delay. The state government indicated that the subsidy remains part of its broader initiatives to support residents amid rising cost of living pressures.

Eligible residents are advised to verify their qualification status and registration details through the relevant state transport authorities to ensure seamless access to the expanded subsidy benefits.
